91-02: A More Nearly Exact Representation of Cooling Tower Theory

Merkel theory relied on several basic assumptions to simplify the mathematical calculations involved in the determination on KaV (cooling tower demand). Sixty-five years later, computers and numerical methods allow for more precise determinations. A description of the history and current status of this development is presented. Necessary formulas and computational methods are presented in their entirety.
