The purpose of this paper is to show why altitude is an important factor that should be taken into consideration when designing or testing a tower. Information will also be presented which should be helpful in doing calculations for elevations other than sea level. Only counterflow towers will be discussed in this paper because of the ease in performing the calculations but the principles discussed also apply to crossflow towers.
