78-09: Chlorine Dixide Use in Cooling Systems Using Sewage Effluent as Make-up
Couldn't load pickup availability
When the City of Burbank engineers decided in 1967 to use sewage plant effluent for cooling tower makeup without removing the phosphate and without final filtration, it was a bold decision. Although there were many installations utilizing sewage plant effluent for cooling and even some for-boiler water makeup, these installations pretreated with lime to remove the phosphate from the water.
