77-01: The Evaluation of Nonchromium Low Zinc Cooling Water Corrosion Control

Overall performance achieved with a nonchromium low zinc cooling
water corrosion control agent is reviewed, Duration of the test extended· 
over almost a year of additive usage in a major cooling tower of the Shell 
Oil Company Wilmington Manufacturing Complex. This evaluation was the last 
in a comparative study of ten commercially available additive formulations1 
the others contained neither chromium or zinc. Coupon corrosivities measured 
in the present report were superior to any attained in the earlier tests.
