75-06: The Use of Ion Exchange Resins in Cooling Tower Technology
Couldn't load pickup availability
The treatment of water for coolant water towers by means of ion exchange
resins is not a new concept and various studies have been made which have
supported the need of such technology. Although this need and technology
has been known for years, very few coolant tower systems employ ion exchange
techniques today. In many respects, the operation of a cooling tower is
quite similar to that of a boiler. If the make-up water to the tower
is not treated and if the tower is not "blown down11 regularly, scaling
and corrosion will be excessive and costly
