75-04: Industry - Living with EPA Regulations Promulgated to Meet the FWPCA

The FWPCA, also known as the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, is the Clean Water Act. The goal is to create comprehensive programs that will help to reduce or eliminate the pollution of interstate water. It also aims to improve the condition of underground and surface water to make them more sanitary.

 

The FWPCA regulates quality standards for surface water and discharge of pollutants. The EPA, or U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, has developed and implemented pollution control programs under the FWPCA in order to help improve national water quality.
