74-10: Cooling Requirements for the Nuclear Industry

As you all are well aware by this time, consumption of energy in the 
United States is by far greater than any other country in the indus­trialized world. Over the past decade, electricity consumption, which is only one form of energy demand, has grown at a rate of 7 percent annually, which is estimated to be about twice the growth rate of all 
other energy uses. By the year 2000, it is probable that over 40 per­cent of all the energy that is produced will be used as electric power.
