73-07: Microbiological Control in Cooling Water Systems
Couldn't load pickup availability
Microbiological control in recirculating systems should be considered equally
important as corrosion and inorganic-organic fouling control.
To maintain maximum efficiency in heat exchange equipment, fouling must be
eliminated from heat transfer surfaces and supply lines, Fouling or deposition,
whether soh or hard, restricts heat transfer by its relative inability to conduct
heat from the medium being cooled to the water whose purpose is to carry the
heat away. When fouling becomes severe, flow becomes restricted reducing the
removal of heat from exchange surfaces and accelerating fouling due to subsidence.
