68-12: Agricultural Waste Water Treatment Methods

Treatment of municipal and industrial wastes, which has been discussed at great length at this seminar, has been a matter of great concern to the Water Pollution Control and Public Health agencies for several years. Only recently, however, has a concentrated effort been expended to perfect methods for treating agricultural drain waters to remove elements which might ultimately cause pollution problems and adversely affect values associated with ow- rivers, lakes and estuaries. The necessary research and study effort is now underway to develop the most feasible method of treating drain waters to remove nitrogen com­pounds which could possibly create problems in certain receiving water.
