68-06: Axial Flow Fans and Their Application to Cooling Towers

The cooling tower industry can no longer afford. haphazard design practices when considering fans and air movement through a cooling tower. The purpose of this paper is to provide a better understanding of axial. flow fans and the effect of the environment in which they operate. Basic fan theory will be considered, as well as manufacturing methods, factors which affect system efficiency, perform­ance curves and their use, and mechanical design. In addition to these, design responsibility and standardization of performance data will be discussed.
