64-01: Experience in Retarding Wood Rot by the Use of Plenum Chamber Sprays

Is there any relation between cooling tower slime and wood rot? We asked ourselves this question some years ago and then undertook an applied research investigation to determine the answer. As the project progressed, we found we were adding more questions and finding fewer answers, but in the course of the work we did make a number of observations which may be of interest to those who build and use wooden cooling towers.
