63-06: Combating Biological Attack on the Gulf Coast

The aim of this report is to bring to light the serious problems confronting the users of cooling towers and to describe accepted and proven methods of coping with these problems.
Cooling towers gained real popularity with the advent of World War II and the accompanying industrial expansion. With the multiplicity of cooling towers, there soon came a rude awakening to the uninitiated that problems of tower maintenance and biocidal control were ever present.
