TP25-29 Natural Draught Cooling Towers

Late afternoon on the 14 December 2017, two concrete pre-cast beams collapsed in a large natural draft cooling tower, and consequently, most of the splash grid fill collapsed catastrophically and fell into the basin, thereby significantly reducing the efficiency of the cooling tower. This cooling tower is one of four used in a large Petrochemical Complex constructed in South Africa and is critical to the plant throughput and efficiency.
