TP22-06: Sidestream Filtration Technology Comparison

Micro screen filtration is a proven method for cooling tower side stream filtration and has distinct CAPEX and OPEX advantages compared with sand filters, plastic disc filters and centrifugal separators; however, micro screen filtration has not penetrated the market as a mainstream solution. The purpose of this paper is to educate engineering decision makers by sharing experience and comparing technologies.
