19-04: Discfiltration for Cooling Water Treatment

Disc and Drum filtration has been used for many years in both the Municipal and Aquaculture market. One supplier has more than 10,000 units installed worldwide. It became obvious to some that the technology would have multiple applications in the heavy industrial sector. Since Power, HPI/CPI, O&G, P&P, and other heavy industries use large volumes of cooling and demineralized water and at times reclaim water is a source of water, the ‘jump’ to the industrial market was logical. New uses for technology continue to develop as industries look for better ways to meet their water and wastewater treatment needs while achieving sustainability goals.
